Data is copied to 2 sets of CD/DVD by operators; one is for archives at telescope site and another is transferred to Garching via plane. Another copy is made to hand it to observaers. *Remote Observation Remote observation never happens from Santiago. Once tested between Paranal and Garching using the satellite communication. But there is no request from astronomers and remote observation is not pursued. Observers are requested to visit telescope sites. *Santiago Office where astronomers stop by before and after visiting telescopes. Notebook PC has configured as dual boot (Linux and Windows XP English). Notebook has resolution of 1600 by 1400. Hardware is replaced at least every three years. ESO standard is RedHat Linux. But SuSE is emerging. Backup of notebook PC's data is not officially offered. NFS is not used and necessary software is locally installed. SCR directory on server is used for data transfer with some limitation of directory size.
